Tummy Rumbles: Our One Little Word for 2012

Happy New Year World! Wow! I can’t believe it is a start of another year. Time really flies by so fast. I have to say 2011 was epic! Our word last year was GROW. And grow we did…in every aspect of our life. Scott and I grew together in our relationship and we stuck together especially through rough times. We grew in our relationship with others; we met more wonderful people and friends and clients this year that we are so thankful for! We grew in our personal lives and have moved from a tiny apartment to our first home. Our business grew…little baby elephant steps like we said and we did it! But yes we know that there’s a whole lot more ahead of us. We grew in terms of skills and creativity…we learn everyday!

We grew in every step of the way and there is just so much to be thankful for! We are very humbled for all the support and love that we got from fans, friends, families, and clients. You truly made our year memorable! We can’t thank you enough. And we are grateful that God has never stopped loving us and helping us through our journey each and everyday. Even with our crazy schedule we tried to find time to go to church. I hope we do better with that this year, since we really enjoy mass. Okay, enough with the suspense. Scott and I have been thinking about this upcoming year all week and we have come up with our word for 2012. Drumroll please…EXPLORE!

Everyone is looking for that dare to be great situation and we feel that this year we are only limited by ourselves. So, our goal is to explore and challenge ourselves to be the best we can be. We want to explore our strengths and our weaknesses. We want to explore new things whether they are places or things to do. We especially want to explore photography whether it be techniques or our own creativity. We feel like there’s so much more out there waiting to be unraveled. We look forward to challenging ourselves and embracing being different. Bring it on 2012! Happy New Year everyone!

Thank You for Everyday!

Happiest Friday friends! I know we just celebrated Thanksgiving here in the US yesterday but I think it’s important to be thankful everyday anyway. I’m sure I will have a long list of people like fans, friends, clients, and families to be thankful for. I thank YOU all and I could never thank you enough for sure…for having faith in our photography and for letting us live our dreams! Thank you from the bottom of our ♥ ♥ {Scott + Mine}. And most of all, thank you God for everyday!

i thank You God for most this amazing
e.e. cummings

i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun’s birthday; this is the birth
day of life and of love and wings: and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any–lifted from the no
of all nothing–human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?

(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

These gifts are actually camera key chains that Emi brought from Japan last month during her family visit. They make noise and flashes when you press the shutter release, how cool is that!? I love it! Well friends, have a wonderful weekend and I’ll be posting Brian & Angelica‘s e-session on Monday so check back soon!

A Mom Away from Mom

Hey it’s Wednesday! Normally we go out for Margarita Wednesdays {we made this up by the way} as an excuse to just put a break within the week. But this week, we are too busy for that and almost too busy to cook our own food. Yes, I know! Even if we eat out, we do still try to eat something quick and something healthy. Today, we are so grateful to have dinner ready for us at 6:00pm by Lili of Sultan’s. I’ve posted about trying something different before and her Indian-Persian restaurant is definitely a must-eat and must-shop for groceries. Anyway, she invited us for dinner and she cooked something special, some delicious homemade Persian food. It had chicken, potatoes, rice, onions, and raisins. Then all these were each delicately cooked then mixed altogether at the end. She actually explained to us how she cooked it and it seemed like she did spend a lot of time and hard work on it. I feel so loved! Without our parents here, she has been our ever caring mother making sure that we eat and not overwork ourselves.

She is quite shy when it comes to taking photos, but here’s a glimpse of her at the Nowruz party. She is so charming and very pretty. =) Aren’t you glad for Moms and people like her? I am. I truly appreciate her motherly love. ♥ How’s your Wednesday going? I hope it’s a good one!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello there friends! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you :)

This might be surprising to you but we actually don’t celebrate the American Thanksgiving. I’ve mentioned before that I’m from the Philippines and my husband is from Canada, so when Thanksgiving comes around we either get invited by our American friends or we just sit around the house and cook ourselves an equally scrumptious meal. We just don’t do a big turkey celebration plus we don’t really have families here to gather around and have dinner with.

But hey it doesn’t mean that we are not thankful, of course we are! We are truly blessed with good friends here and in the blogosphere who inspires us a lot, good jobs, caring families even if they are miles and miles away, and we are thankful for every little good fate that comes our way ;) If you ask me what I’m most thankful for…I am thankful to have my husband, Scott. He is my best friend and my soul mate. He is mine, all mine! And he makes me happy everyday, rain or shine or snow or blizzard. I definitely know that the world is so much brighter with him around. This is a photo of him that I took under this yellow tree ♥

♪ So whose to worry
If our hearts get torn
When that hurt gets thrown
Don’t you know this life goes on
And won’t you kiss me
On that midnight street
Sweep me off my feet
Singing ain’t this life so sweet ♬
