Chris & Sarah | Stillwater Engagement Photography

Happy Monday folks and don’t fret! We have an amazing e-session post to take those Monday blues away! This is one of my favourite times of the year for engagement photos because I love the glow of the November sun and you can almost feel the love in the air. We met Chris & Sarah on the OSU campus for some formal photos since Sarah is an alumni and Chris will be graduating very soon and then headed to a private lake to capture their love of the outdoors and…canoeing! So make sure you scroll to the bottom because you are in for a real treat! ♥

Chris and Sarah had known of each other for many years but their paths never properly crossed. Sarah had even gone backpacking and canoeing several times with Chris’ mom and little sister. It wasn’t until they both happened to attend National Camp School together that their fates would intertwine. They worked together for the rest of that summer at a Boy Scout camp, Sarah as the Pool Director and Chris as the Whitewater Kayaking Director, and have been inseparable ever since!

Sarah had always wanted a sapphire engagement ring and found the perfect ring one day while browsing with Chris. So she figured out he had bought the ring but Chris wanted it to be a surprise. So he hid it until he thought enough time had passed that she had forgotten about it. A few month later, Sarah was getting out of the shower and found the room aglow with candles. I’m sure she was surprised! It was at that moment that Chris asked Sarah to marry him. She said yes of course!

I can totally understand why Sarah wanted a white sapphire ring. It’s beautiful! And this next photo is my favourite! It truly shows how beautiful and carefree it was boating around that shimmering pond! ♥!

Next month these two lovebirds are actually jaunted off to Jamaica for a destination wedding! How fun! I’m a bit jealous, LOL, but I’m so happy for these two. I can tell that they are going to be so happy together!

We loved hanging out with these two because they’re so easy going and fun to shoot. ♥ Don’t miss out on more sweet photos of Chris & Sarah paddling around this golden pond. So head on over to the slideshow on their Client Site and enjoy the rest of your week {and a short one at that for our American friends!}!

Just Because ~ Quentin & Victoria

Happy Wednesday! Due to inclement weather this past weekend, we had to move our schedule around a bit. So no photoshoot :( but no worries, we still have a fun session to share! Quentin & Victoria came to us last November to get some Just Because photos done. This is the first time to post any because they wanted them to be a surprise for their families over the holidays. Take a look!

As you can see this was in the heart of fall and all the trees were glorious. I’m so glad that Sophie and Bella, their pomeranian’s, were able to come out and play! And boy they loved it!

Kitchen utensils? Power tools?! Lol, this couple was so much fun! We always try to find something that a couple has in common and we center the photoshoot around that. This time there was a twist! The thing is that they don’t exactly share everything but for every interest or hobby one of them has, the other has a complement. They each have their own bookshelves with different types of books. One has a PC…and, yup, the other likes Macs. Victoria likes to spend time in the kitchen {she bakes the best banana bread} and Quentin spends time in the garage {his truck is his baby}. The best thing about this couple is that they encourage each other even when it’s “different”. It would be so boring anyway if two people are too much alike right!?

Quentin and Victoria have been together for 5 years and we asked them if they would share their porposal story. They have such a sweet story! Quentin has a handy man business on the side but was worried about how long it may take to save up for a nice ring. As luck would have it, he had a client that had a beautiful loose diamond. The client made him a deal, in exchange for a summer’s worth of yard work, he could have the diamond. All he needed to do was find the perfect setting. The ring is beautiful so I think they got a great deal and such a labor of love!

Quentin and Victoria have a new passion for running. And as you may expect they have simliar shoes and water bottles…matching but different.

While we were running around we came across a fallen eagle’s nest. How crazy is that!? I swear I could fit in that nest no problem…I mean it was B-I-G! Anyway, there was no sneak peek on this one so head straight on over and visit their Event Page for more sweet his & her photos. Have a great week!

Family ~ The Wackers

Happy Wednesday everyone! I’m so happy to be saying this back here in the States with Scott! I hope your year is turning out to be filled with exciting opportunities. We are so excited ourselves and I’m happy to share with you our first session of the year! Meet Paige’s family. Paige is a hypnotherapist here in town; her husband, Chris, is an engineer/inventor; and their daughter Harleigh is enjoying high school life. Don’t they sound like such a fun family to know? Well, they are!

For a January winter day, it was beautiful. It was cold in the shade but it was easy enough to warm up in the ample sun. They brought their dogs: Honey, Kona, and Babe. One for each of them! These pups were so fun and playful and you could tell they liked getting out that day. :)

Paige and her family wanted to bring something to the shoot that they all have in common…an iPad! What a unique and creative idea. They each own an iPad and on evenings when they want to relax they all take them out to play or catch up with friends. This family is so fun to hang out with so we decided to be a bit silly with them, LOL.

It was a very pleasant Saturday to be out, especially for January! We were so lucky to be spending it with such a nice and wonderful family. Thanks for stopping by and remember to head on over to their Event Page for more fun family photos! See you again here on Friday!

Sneak Peek: Family ~ The Wackers

Happy Monday Everyone! This year is looking to be full of some really fun and creative photo sessions! And we’re starting it off with some family photos! Paige, Chris, and Harleigh were a blast to photograph. I love their household rule: You’re in trouble if you’re not having fun!

And of course they brought along the rest of the family…their 3 adorable puppies, from left to right: Honey, Kona, and Babe ♥ They’re so cute and very energetic too!

They have such a beautiful family! Paige is pretty relaxed and calm, Chris is actually very smart, and Harleigh is pretty cute and laid-back herself. ♥

These three actually like goofing around with their iPads. They laze around at home Facebooking or messaging each other.

It was cool and breezy but luckily the sun came out to play and we all had fun (we didn’t want to get in trouble, lol). And as usual, make sure to stop by again in two weeks for the full photo session up on the blog. Have a great one!

Engagement ~ Chris & Kristena

Yay it’s finally Friday and Christmas Eve Eve to boot! (Hey, holiday anticipation is totally celebration worthy, LOL) It’s the best feeling to be surrounded by family and friends. So I hope all of you are with those you love and care about. Talking about love and caring, I have a fabulous airplane engagement shoot to share, yay again! The idea of making our way to the local Airport and some photos around the University campus sounded pretty good. Brrrr…it was pretty {very} chilly on this sunny Saturday afternoon. I’m so glad Chris and Kristena brought some sun of their own (and some hand warmers too, LOL). Awww, they’re so sweet! ♥

We have always wanted to do an airplane engagement. When we found out that Chris was in the Air Force, wheels started spinning. Trying to keep it closer to home, we totally lucked out when we were able to get some help from the wonderful folks over at Hanger 1 Flight Center here in Stillwater.

Kristena has a gorgeous face! She looks pretty even when she’s not smiling. And her ring is just as beautiful and sparkly!

Chris and Kristena were engaged on the 5th of November and if you remember I told you in the sneak peek they shared a really fun and creative proposal story with us. Kristena had told Chris that if she ever got engaged she would want her family involved. Always keeping Kristena’s happiness in mind, Chris proposed through a scavenger hunt with Kristena’s family helping out! Everyone knew what was in store for that day except clueless Kristena who just thought they were all just having a fun weekend.

Kristena with family in tow followed clues which involved a baseball (Kristena loves baseball!) and four wheelers and finally…a dog house. Let me give a little background on this last clue. Chris has been wanting a dog and everytime he brings it up Kristena replies that they can talk about it after they get engaged. So, at the end of the scavenger hunt Kristena found a dog house with a sign that read “Can we have a puppy now?” When she turned around she found Chris down on one knee! How cute is that?! He’s definitely a keeper! :)

Kristena couldn’t stop laughing! As you can see, Chris was too big for this little airplane LOL ;)

As always don’t forget to visit their Event Page for more of their fun e-session photos! I wish you all the best this Holiday Season! Have fun and enjoy your break! ♥

Engagement ~ Brian & Angelica

Happy Monday everyone! While you start making your holiday wishlists and settle down with a leftover turkey sandwich, I have a super sweet couple to share with all of you! Meet Brian and Angelica. :) They started off as classmates…then best friends…then dating…and now they’re on their way to a happily ever after. And from the way they look at each other, I can tell it’s a love that will grow each passing day.

One summer Angelica went back to Mexico too see her family. Brian saw this as the perfect opportunity to pop the question while including her family during this joyous time. Angelica toured Brian around the campus where she studied for her undergrad and she was sharing one of her favourite spots with him. As they traversed the walkway around the library Brian got down on one knee to pop the question and Angelica tried to get him to stand up since she was pretty shy and didn’t see this coming. Of course she made sure to say Yes as she convinced him to get up. Brian picked out the ring himself and he actually fell in love with it as soon as he saw it.

Angelica actually loves books but it would have been a shame being cooped up inside on a day like this. The weather was perfect for strolling around the campus pond and relaxing under the trees of library lawn. Also we had time to go to the lake and had some fun with the leaves, it’s fall after all!

We even caught a glimpse of a family of deer who seemed to be enjoying the weather just like us. And finally the sun decided to shine as it slowly set on the horizon. These two were so sweet throughout the session, I loved it! ♥

Tata for now. Make sure to visit their Event Page for more sweet e-session photos and I hope you enjoy your week!

Engagement ~ Sean & Rachael

Happy Friday everyone, I have a fun engagement session to share with a sweet story. When we first meet Sean and Rachael they let us in on the fact they actually have a competitive side. We all thought it would be fun to incorporate it into the photoshoot. So it was decided: this couple would be duking it out at…the minigolf course! When Saturday afternoon rolled around it was cloudy and windy and cold but bless these two ’cause they weren’t gonna let the weather get in the way.

For Sean and Rachael it was love at first sight…but there’s a twist. In order to get into the PHD psychology program, Sean went through an interview process. He instantly noticed this girl interviewing with him. They spoke briefly and he was anxious to see if they would end up in any classes together. As the school year began, he was heartbroken to find out that she didn’t join the program :( He never thought to ask for her full name and couldn’t find her. He even confided with a friend and made the bold assertion that this was the girl he was going to marry. When all hope of meeting again seemed lost, there she was! Rachael joined the program the following semester! It was love at first sight…but they weren’t destined to be together until the following sem. What heart-wrenching games fate can play!

Back to our day, the minigolf game began with typical competitive spirit, but as the afternoon drew on and it seemed only to be getting colder. They decided to call it a draw this one time and we headed over to the pond for more laid back photos. I gave them the quilt just to keep them warm as we tested the light, but we just couldn’t resist snapping a few shots. They are just too adorable together. ♥

As the days passed in their PHD program together, they found eachother spending more and more time together. On one fateful day, Sean presented Rachael with a promise ring with the bold declaration, “Rachael, I’m in love with you and I’m going to marry you.” From what I gathered, utterly taken by surprise, Rachael had to draw upon all of her training to keep herself together. But for Rachael, Sean is her first love and these soul mates are meant to live happily ever after.

We learned from Sean to never give up hope, and we were hoping for sun! At the last minute, the sun came out to play and graced us with it’s warm glow before it set.

Ah I love this last photo with the glowing sun on their faces. I love these natural flares! ♥ Make sure to visit their Event Page for more of their fun e-session photos. ;) Happiest Friday! And I hope you enjoy your weekend.

Sneak Peek: Engagement ~ Brian & Angelica

Happy Monday everyone and it’s another sneeeeak peeeek day! Yay! This couple we photographed yesterday is so sweet. Brian is from the cold state of Nebraska and Angelica from the warm country of Mexico. We started off on the University grounds and later headed to the outskirts of town to a lake and the surrounding woodsy area.

And OMG! we were so happily surprised that they brought along their new puppy Rugie. She is such a cute and sweet puppy. You couldn’t find a more perfect fit for Brian and Angelica! ♥

The temperature was just right for fall and the leaves were so beautiful…just like Angelica’s sweet face. I can’t wait to show you the rest of their fun fall e-session and tell you their love story, so make sure to check back in two weeks. Hasta Luego!

Sneak Peek: Engagement ~ Sean & Rachael

Happy Monday my friends! How was your weekend? I hope you stayed warm. We had so much fun last Saturday with Sean and Rachael’s engagement session. It was definitely cold and windy but these two were just about up for anything. We had a fun quick minigolf session and the rest of the time was just spent relaxing by the pond.

With the cold weather, yes these two loved every opportunity to snuggle! Awww they were actually so sweet throughout the whole session. ♥

The sunset was so lovely just like the love that these two share! I can’t wait to tell you their love story so make sure to check back two weeks from now for their full engagement session! ♥ I hope your week is starting out awesome!

Engagement ~ Alex & Katy

Alex and Katy are a sweet, vibrant, and down-to-earth couple. I met Alex and Katy in the coffee shop as usual and right from the start we clicked. Naturally, I had to hear their engagement story. I’m sure Katy had told the story a million times before to all her friends so we gave her a break and let Alex tell it. It’s easy to see by the way they look at each other and tell the story that they’re so in love ♥

Alex and Katy are so adorable and I love how their story starts: Alex and Katy grew up together as next door neighbours. After getting approval from Katie’s dad, Alex decided that he would ask for her hand on the eve of her birthday. That same night Katie invited some friends to celebrate her birthday and one girl was even going to stay the night. Alex anxiously waited for a chance to get Katy alone. Fearing that he would either loose his nerve or opportunity, he asked Katie to walk him home taking a short detour through the bordering golf course. Alex had prepared chocolate covered strawberries and sparkling wine which Katy never questioned since it was her birthday. While they were enjoying each others company at hole number 1, Alex broke the question. She said YES of course! And as luck would have it, the ring box came with a small light inside. How could a girl say no to the boy next door with a sparkling ring under the stars! ♥

They both graduated from OSU and are big Cowboy fans, so we had to get a few shots at their Alma mater. Alex is now a mechanical engineer while Katy is finishing up her masters in early childhood education. Then it was off to the golf course! What better place to take pictures then where it all began. Not only was this the place where Alex proposed but they had spent many nights here talking under the stars. Sweeeet! ♥

The light on the golf course was stunning! Shining through the trees, over the hills, and reflecting off the pond…it truly felt like there was magic in the air. Do visit their Event Page for more of their fun e-session photos. ;)
