Rob ♥ Robyn | Perry Wedding Photography

Good Friday Morning to you all! We have a special wedding to share with you that’s full of life and full of love! I love how Rob & Robyn found that perfect balance of timeless tradition with a healthy dose of partying! I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to kick off our 2013 wedding season.

Robyn had such a pretty gown. I love the appliques and floral belt and I love how a puffy tulle skirt turns a bride into a princess. ♥ The girls all stayed the night in a hotel here in Stillwater and were up early prettying themselves up. They all helped each other out with doing their own make-up and hair.

I always think it’s smart when a bride decides to go with a pair of flats. There’s no reason you need to torture your feet on your wedding day! And what’s even better? Going with a cute pair of Vera Wang flats. ♥

While getting into their wedding garb at the church in Perry, and before seeing each other, they did a letter exchange. Rob even gave Robyn one last gift before tying the knot! How sweet! ♥

I love that Rob wore a gray suit to contrast against the rest of the boys. And the girls looks so cute in their coral dresses!

Oh I love her bouquet! Many of my favourite bouquets I’ve seen have come from Colonial Florist. Robyn had the idea to take their first photo together before seeing each other. How cute!

You know how we feel about a first glance during the wedding day. It was so sweet seeing their expressions when they finally got to see each other and it was beautiful watching it unfold in such a marvelous church. These two lovebirds are definitely meant to be together!

The ceremony took place in the magnificent St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Perry. I’m so glad the wedding took place during the day so that everyone could enjoy the colorful glow of the stained glass windows. It was amazing watching the ceremony unfold beneath the large golden dome.

Time to head off in style in…an RV! How cool is that? Most of the groomsmen are form out of town but instead of flying in, they rented an RV and were slowly picked up as it made it’s way to Oklahoma. It’s awesome that they incorporated it into their day!

This was the first wedding we’ve attended that had a pre-party to the party. When we found out there was a quick stop at their favourite pub in town, the Copper Penny, I knew we were in for a fun night!

After a few celebratory shots at the bar, everyone hopped over to a classy reception held at Meditations. Ready to party, they jumped right into the first dance. Patrick from DJ Connection did an awesome job at getting the dance floor hopping!

As favours, Robyn put together jars filled with ingredients to make cookies. Edible favours are always crowd pleasers! You can never go wrong with a classic white wedding cake! I love the pearl borders and dot design. Cake Crazy always makes delicious cakes and the groom’s cake is so unique and fun too.

As if the reception wasn’t fun enough, Rob & Robyn rented a real photobooth from Route 66 Photobooth! Everyone loves a photobooth {especially after a few drinks!} And it’s a great way to get photos of all of your guests.

I feel I need to explain this next photo, LOL! The boys got a work out showing off their mad skills dancing the alligator dance!

Congrats Rob & Robyn! We’re so glad that you chose us to capture your special day and celebrate your wedding with you. It was wonderful meeting you and your families. Make sure to stop by their Client Site and check out the slideshow for more photos. Have and awesome weekend and happy Spring!

Sneak peek time! This past weekend we started off our wedding season with a lively wedding spanning Perry and Stillwater Oklahoma. This couple is so happy and carefree and the day was so much fun because of all of Rob & Robyn’s friends and family who genuinely came to support and celebrate with them. It was the perfect wedding to get us in the spirit of wedding season!

The day started early at a hotel here in Stillwater with everyone prettying up before jetting off to the magnificent St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Perry, OK. I love all the ruffles and beading on Robyn’s gown. She looked so gorgeous and I was sure that Rob was getting antsy during their first glance!

After the ceremony, the entire wedding crew hopped into an RV {now that’s riding in style!} to travel back to Stillwater and hit the Strip for a pre-reception celebration at their favorite regular hangout, the Copper Penny! After sharing a few drinks with friends, these two lovebirds ventured on to meet the rest of their family and friends at their buzzing reception at Meditations.

Man, these kids know how to party! Make sure you stop on back in a couple weeks for the full post. Enjoy the rest of your week. Happy Monday!

Wedding ~ Jeff ♥ Maegen

Happy Friday! We’re so excited to finally share with you this charming Tulsa, Oklahoma wedding. This couple was married against the grandeur of the fabulous Dresser Mansion. There are so many fantastic details. This is a wedding that every girl dreams of! Without further ado here’s Jeff & Maegan’s whimsical wedding. ♥

Jeff and Maegen along with their entourage got ready in the gorgeous rooms of the mansion. I can’t get over the teal walls and whole storybook feel of the place! The boys were lucky enough to find a pool table in the basement. Maegen said she didn’t have a particular colour scheme for her wedding but she did ask that the bridesmaids to stay within the same coral family. The eclectic dresses look great together and I think it’s a terrific way to create more whimsy on the wedding day.

All the girls did their own hair and make-up! Now that’s a DIY bride! Jeff & Maegen exchanged letters with each other before the ceremony. ♥ I think it’s so sweet when I see couples do this and it puts so much more meaning to the day.

I love her Zigi soho sandals and how they perfectly complement her romantic styled gown! Plus they never stopped her from partying through the night.

I love this next photo and how it looks like Maegen could have stepped straight out of the 1920s after the mansion was first built. It definitely helps that she picked out a stunning Wtoo Marguerite gown from Bliss Bridal in Texas.

The bouquets were made out of brooches by Maegen and her mom. I’ve seen brooch bouquets floating around Pinterest but I never imagined how fun and awesome they are in real life! They were beyond cool! And I think these are by far the best ones I’ve seen so far, so pin away!

I love when a couple decides to do a first glance! Seeing this handsome couple in this setting, first laying their eyes on each other on their wedding day can not be properly expressed so I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. ♥

Two of the major themes for the wedding were owls and fabric flowers. The fabric flowers were also made by Maegen with the help of family and friends. They were used in centerpieces, railings, the arbor, and more. I even found them hiding among the real rose bushes. I found myself giggling with each new place I found them. It was magical! It was a warm, sunny Oklahoma day so the fan programs were a also very cleverly planned.

Jeff & Maegen’s wedding day was magical and their engagement story is equally as spellbinding. These two lovebirds went on a family beach vacation in North Carolina. Jeff took Maegen down to look for dolphins and suddenly knelt on one knee and asked her to marry him. How could she have said no to this handsome genteel fellow! The rest is happily ever after. :)

Jeff is an assistant college football coach so the groom’s cake could not have been more appropriate. The adorable cupcake tower was deliciously made by Icing on the Top here in Tulsa.

Now this is what I call a royal spread! The food, catered by Mershon Catering, was not only beautiful to look at but a gastronomical delight! And the kids weren’t left out either with a fabulous vintage candy bar!

I have to give some love for Dave from DJ Connection. He was a stellar MC and got the party started! I had to watch my foot tapping to catch these party pics!

Oh my goodness, they had a real photobooth! We got so excited we even jumped in ourselves! lol! Oh geez, I can’t get over the coolness of this wedding. Everyone had so much fun!

Oh and I almost forgot! We actually ran into Maegen even before meeting her. A day before our scheduled meeting, we were antiquing in our favourite little town of Guthrie, OK and noticed a stylish girl looking at owl necklaces. You can’t forget a beauty like this and when she illustrated her vision for her wedding to us we immediately remembered her. I guess everything was meant to be, even our little part!

Congrats to Jeff & Maegen! I’m so happy that we were able to be part of their wedding, and here’s one last shot of their love and make sure you check out the slideshow on the Event Page. There’s so many more fun photos. Have a super weekend!

Sneak Peek: Wedding ~ Jay ♥ Kayla

A historic hotel…a magnificent catholic church…a trolley ride to an old world ballroom…the makings of a beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple ~ Jay & Kayla. ♥

Bridesmaids are awesome because they are always there to help! Getting Kayla all dolled up and traipsing around a historic downtown with these girls in hot pink dresses was a blast!

I really love the shot above and the lily flower creation by Donna Curtis is so gorgeous {and smelled great too}! Kayla was so excited to see Jay and show off her beautiful dress and I think finally being able to see Kayla cooled Jay’s nerves.

Now this is riding in style! Off to a reflective and beautiful ceremony under the faint glow of the majestic stained glass windows.

And the little ring bearers had the most adorable getup! Love their silly faces!

This wedding was none-stop jaw dropping with the ballroom at The Sand Plum topping off the night. The exquisite cakes by Bev’s Cakes was a perfect finishing touch.

Check out these dancing machines! These showstoppers were dancing the night away to Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson tunes.

Want to see more of this grand wedding?! Make sure to check back in two weeks to follow their whole day!

Wedding ~ John ♥ Lindsey

Happy Friday everyone! Drumroll please…we’ve been teasing you with engagements and such but we now have our first wedding of this year to share with you! Yay! John & Lindsey’s celebration has a little bit of everything so I think it’s an awesome way to sound off the season. {Can you hear the starting gun firing?! I can ;)} Meet this amazing couple ~ John & Lindsey. ♥ We spent the whole day with this fun laid back couple and we wouldn’t have had it any other way.

We met the girls early in the morning at the Salon to watch them pretty up. It was so much fun watching them because you can tell they are so close. And I can’t think of a better way to start off your wedding day than with her family’s famous cinnamon buns!

We all took a break for lunch with the girls having lunch catered at the church to give themselves plenty of time to prepare and setup at the Children’s Library. The boys showed up soon after and hung out in a classroom on the other side of the church. Covering all bases Lindsey made sure to include something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

I was elated when she showed me her “something blue”. Her bridesmaids Karisa, Martina, Lacey, and Molly along with her parents all wrote encouraging words on the bottom of her heels in blue. ♥

Now let me tell you, Lindsey loves surprises! The only person that had seen her dress was her Mom. She didn’t let a single picture leak out. She wanted to see the expression on her bridesmaid’s faces when she pulled it out and what a surprise! It’s beautiful: exquisite beading on the corset set atop flowing delicate ivory fabric gathered to the side with the same beading and laced up the back. She looked amazing! Lindsey opted for a first glance and just to be sure that John didn’t peek until she was ready, he stood there blindfolded and let Lindsay reveal herself. How fun!

To draw out the suspense even further, Lindsey came up with the idea of a father’s first glance. So sweet! I love the tall ceilings and openness of her family’s church. The flower girl, Lindsey’s niece Harleigh, was so adorable! And when Karisa, Lindsey’s maid of honor, took the stage and sang a sweet song, everyone was brought to tears!

Lindsey wanted to add some country flavour to the wedding. So while waiting for the newlyweds, guests were asked to take handfuls of wheat kernels from galvanized buckets. What a send off! I found myself digging wheat out of crevasses even after we got home. Now let the party begin! The wedding cake had a lovely texture and I’ve never seen a more appropriate groom’s cake, lol.

With cake served Lindsey and her dad kicked off the dance. And of course the wedding would not have been the same without Lindsey’s sorority sisters! It was touching watching the Tri Delta girls gather around the newlyweds and serenade them. ♥

I think one of the neatest things at the reception was the longest marriage dance. All the married couples were asked to come to the dance floor. After a couple minutes the DJ asked that couples married less than 2 days to leave the floor. John and Lindsey promptly sat down. Then couples married less than 5 years were asked to sit down. I think you can guess the game here…10 years, 15 years, 20 years. The amazing thing was how long the count down continued. It made your heart swell to see couples married for decades waltzing across the dance floor…40 years, 45 years, 50 years. It continued until only one couple was left and everyone watched them dance across the floor. Lindsey’s grandparents have been married for over 60 years! Now that’s love! ♥

The reception was definitely not a yawn! After the formal dances the music kicked up a notch {or five} and it turned into a full blown dance party! The robot may be a feat in a wedding dress and high heels but luckily Lindsey brought her dancing shoes, Toms!

Lindsey’s cousins set up a truly hip photobooth with a stellar selection of props. The perfect way to take a break from the dance-a-thon. Check out the Boys! It’s doesn’t look like their stopping anytime soon. John’s got the moves!

Wish you could see more of this fabulous wedding? Don’t fret. Just head over to the Event Page, and check out the slideshow. Have a great weekend!
