Heath ♥ Haley | Meno Wedding Photography

Happy Sunday y’all! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! We’re so excited about this wedding that we’ve been working into the weekend because we couldn’t wait any longer to post it. Heath and Haley recently got hitched at The Home Place Country Estate in Meno, OK and we’re so glad that they picked us to capture their beautiful barn wedding.

I love the classic shape and ruffles on Haley’s wedding gown from The Bridal Shop. And I thought it was cool that The Home Place has this fun little split trailer for the girls and boys to get ready in.

Haley’s wedding shoes were fabulous…Toms! And they were pretty lacey ones! I always think it’s a great idea to wear a fun pair of flats on your wedding day. No bride wants to be nursing sore feet on their special day!

Miranda from Patton’s Hair Salon did all the girls hair giving them dynamite do’s! I love that she gave Haley some delightul golden curls!

Heath is currently going to med-school in the Bahamas and it was actually in that beautiful country that he surprised Haley by popping the question. Haley hadn’t seen Heath for a whole month, so she decided to fly down to St. Charles to visit. Little did she know, Heath was planning out the proposal with his friend. So one day he had his friend plant the ring inside of a large sea shell on the beach…

When they came upon the shell, he told Haley to go take a look at it. She was afraid at what might be inside so kicked it over with her foot. To her surprise it was a ring. At that moment Heath got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! She never saw it coming and said YES of course! Don’t they look so great together?! Haley makes an absolutely gorgeous bride and Heath looked quite dashing in his suit!

One of the DIY details on this wedding was actually all the bouquets and centerpieces! Lilies were bought wholesale from Greenleaf Florist and put together by Heath and Haley’s moms. I think they did an awesome job to think they had to put everything together that morning to keep them fresh. The flowers, cool crisp air, and sunshine almost made me feel like I was at a Spring wedding! The girls were so fun and adorable. I like how their choice of black and gold as wedding colours set the tone of a classy wedding and contrasting it with this cool rustic location made it really fun.

Heath and all the boys together looked really sharp in their tuxes also from The Bridal Shop. And I love that there is an old brick silo on the property!

The Home Place is a brand new venue here in Oklahoma and it was a real treat to be one of the first to photograph a wedding here. We totally lucked out on the weather because it was a bright, sunny and warm day which can be rare for the middle of December. The actual ceremony was still held inside though since the evenings are very cold.

Strings of hundreds of lights were draped over the ceiling which gave a friendly cozy feel. They also rented a set of french doors from Donna’s Wedding Rental to set the space apart. I love the atmosphere and like that they kept it simple.

The wedding cake from Bev’s Cakes has a great clean design. Don’t worry, the cake topper was on backwards on purpose as a joke, lol! And enough cupcakes to last through the night! I love the lit up cake and bar signs made by Heath himself. He’s quite a handy guy! I’m always so impressed when the groom helps out with the DIY details.

Heath ♥ Haley | Meno Wedding Photography

Sneak peek time! This past weekend we headed over to the small town of Meno, OK to shoot a barn wedding at The Home Place Country Estate. We are so excited because this is a brand new venue and even more so with the fabulous wedding of Heath and Haley!

Attending the rehearsal was brutal with high winds and rain blowing in 50 degree weather! We were all a bit concerned but God had it in his plan to give this couple the perfect wedding day that they deserved. The sun came out and it warmed up marvelously. You would never had guessed you were attending a December wedding!

Still, even with the spout of warm weather, it is December, so the event was set up inside the barn and it was spectacular! I just loved the hundreds of strung bulbs hung below the ceiling. The warm glow and the sparkling lights winding down the poles made the space magical!

Taylor ♥ Laura | Ponca City Wedding Photography

Happy Wednesday friends! We have a stylish rustic wedding to share that we recently shot at the Marland Mansion in Ponca City, OK. You may remember this handsome couple from their Ranch Engagement this summer. I love all the decorations that they used to bring it all together especially at the reception and how it worked so well in the mansion.

Laura’s one-shoulder dress is so gorgeous! I also love the vintage look of her earrings which she picked up locally at Spray’s Jewelry and Gifts in Ponca City.

The clean design of the invitations and programs looked nicely classic and were printed locally at A+ Printing. If you know me then you know that I’m a big supporter of going local as much as possible. Great!

The wedding party was so much fun to work with and this couple is too perfect for each other! To think that they first met on a blind date!

I love the photo above, it’s so sweet! ♥ And the story behind the bottom right photo is that Taylor and Laura didn’t want to do a first glance so that they could see each other for the first time during the ceremony. But Laura thought it would be fun to get a photo together beforehand. So it’s technically they’re first couple photo together on their wedding day. Fun!

I love it when a bride has a fun surprise like these leopard print shoes! They also work as a her “something borrowed.” And I have a soft spot for poofy dresses! The floral embroidering on this David’s Bridal dress was beautiful!

The boys sure looked sharp in their dark brown suits. I always think diverting from the classic black is always a smart idea. And letting the boys wear their own boots and shoes was a great idea too! I’m sure that Taylor’s cowboy boots are nicer than any shoe rental.

The bouquets from Carriage House Flowers were so colourful and fun! I love the use of ferns for the greenery! They really had a great earthy feel about them while keeping classy.

It was lovely that they had a string quartet play. Oh and I love the look on both Taylor & Laura’s faces when they first saw each other. Love sweet love! ♥

Laura has a brother and Taylor has a sister and they wanted them included in the wedding party. So, the brother was made an honorary bridesmaid and the sister an honorary groomsmen. I really like how it split up the traditional line-up. I do this for formal photos all the time but it really looked great at the ceremony.

There were a couple surprises at the ceremony that made it really special. The first was their friend stepping up to sing A Thousand Years by Christina Perri to the newlyweds. It was a beautiful moment. ♥

The second surprise that none of the guess knew anything about was their first dance. The first dance can sometimes get lost in the hubbub of the reception and they wanted their closest friends and family to have a front row seat. So as soon as they were pronounced man and wife, they danced their first dance under the arch. It was a unique and precious scene.

Laura looked absolutely stunning! And Taylor was handsome too! I simply love their chemistry. They just looked so perfect and happy together!

The photo above is one of my favourite photos. I love Laura’s long wispy veil! After capturing some photos before the sun set, it was time to greet the reception! It was so fun to look at all the found objects used to create unique centerpieces!

There was a cornucopious spread which included a plethora of cheeses and butter spreads! Taylor and Laura wanted to just invite their family to the ceremony but didn’t want to leave any of their friends out so they were invited to the reception. It was quite the party!

The cake table looked amazing! I’ve never seen so much cake at a wedding before. I love how each cake was a different flavour and different design but my favourite part has to be the tree slices used as platters. The cakes were made by their talented baker friend Cindy Filson! They really worked well with the rustic theme.

Congrats Taylor and Laura! We’re so glad that you chose us to capture your special day and celebrate your wedding with you. It was wonderful meeting you and your families. Make sure to stop by their Client Site and check out the slideshow for more photos. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Yaz & Ashley | Stillwater Engagement Photography

Happy Monday friends! Winter is just around the corner but we still have a couple fall engagements to share with you! Yaz and Ashley both have a love for vintage cars and spending time together around the lake. So we all met up and took some photos with a pearl white 1969 Mustang convertible before heading to a park and then ending at the lake.

These two lovebirds used to spend their time walking and talking by the lake and will often stop at these very swings and just spend their afternoons talking and swinging! How cute! ♥

Yaz is originally from the Bahamas and Ashley is from Wyoming but they both currently work and live in Tulsa. They first met while attending school at OSU in Stillwater at a local Dance Hall on the outskirts of town on his birthday. But they still love coming back to Stillwater to get their fix of some original Hideaway pizza. Can’t blame them!

Yaz and Ashley dated for 4 years before getting engaged. Ashley was thinking that he might pop the question while on a trip to Dallas for their 4 year anniversary but Yaz had other ideas. Not too long after the trip they were back in Stillwater for their fix of Hideaway pizza. Yaz suggested that they take a walk around the lawns and gardens of campus. It was at that moment, on the campus where they first spent time together, that he knelt down and asked Ashley to marry him. She said yes of course!

Don’t they look so great together?! We loved shooting this couple so much because they has so much chemistry and happiness! ♥ I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in the Spring. Make sure to head on over to the slideshow on their Client Site and enjoy the rest of your week! Happy December!

The Rosses | Stillwater Family Photography

Good Monday afternoon everyone! And today we have a fun fall family session to share! You may recognize this happy family from our past blogs. We didn’t pick up many family sessions this year since our weekends were full of engagements and weddings but we just had to fit in this great group. We’ve been following these two cuties along since they were 6 months old! They are now 2 years old and have grown up so much! They are more fun every time we meet up.

The weather was perfect as we strolled beneath the golden fall foliage. When you’re photographing 2 year olds and looking for those smiles, you just have to let them play a bit and chase them around! There was definitely lots of running around. We all got our excercise, LOL!

The Rosses are the kindest family! And Charlie and Maddie are the sweetest kids. Every time we see them they always have the most adorable outfits! Oh and they had their cool Tom shoes on too.

Boy that sure was a fun day and a wonderful way to enjoy the short fall season this year. Be sure to check out more fun photos of The Rosses in the slideshow on their Client Site. Have an awesome week!

Jeremy & Sophie | Stillwater Portrait Photography

Happy Black Friday folks! We have a really fun Just Because session to share with y’all and help get your mind off the shopping madness! We recently met up with the adorable couple Jeremy and Sophie at an antique shop downtown because they love antiquing and then hopped on over to the OSU campus to snap some more shots.

The summer after Sophie’s freshmen year, her friend brought her to some dance lessons she was taking at a studio in downtown Tulsa. The dance instructor was none other than…Jeremy. I think there is a movie in this love story somewhere, LOL. A couple lessons later and they were inseparable the rest of the summer. When the summer came to a close, they went their separate ways, but their feelings for each other didn’t. Six months later, missing Sophie, Jeremy gave her a call and their friendship was renewed. Then on New Year’s Eve, they officially became a couple! ♥ So sweet…I love stories like theirs.

Jeremy and Sophie were so much fun in the antique store! These two are definitely the adventurous sort. They love road trips, and amusement parks, and sky diving!

Sophie will be graduating with two degrees and Jeremy with an associates degree in May. At which point they plan on journeying together to a new location. Where they move will depend upon which school Sophie picks for her Masters. I’m sure wherever they end up they will be so happy together!

Isn’t Sophie so pretty?! And she’s smart too! Sophie wanted some photos of her and Jeremy together but she also wanted some portrait shots in celebration of all her hard work! And she deserves it! Not only is she getting two degrees but she will be graduating Magna Cum Laude and is a member of several honor societies. How freaking cool and smart right!?

It was so much fun browsing the antique shop and strolling around campus with these two lovebirds. ♥ Be sure to check out more fun photos of Jeremy & Sophie in the slideshow on their Client Site. Enjoy the rest of your long weekend!

Yaz & Ashley | Stillwater Engagement Photography

Happy Wednesday friends and we have another sneak peek for y’all! This fall weather has been beautiful with so many fun sessions to post and this one is definitely one of our our favourites! Yaz and Ashley love vintage cars, so luckily I work with a bunch of car guys and we got the opportunity to shoot some sweet photos with a pearl white 1969 Mustang convertible. How cool!

We stopped quickly at the park before heading out to the lake. They used to take long walks and get on the swing at this little park when they were completing their university studies. Don’t they look so great together!?! And I love all the outfits that they picked out for the session. ♥

It was so much fun photographing this handsome couple because they brought so much energy and laughter to the shoot! I can’t wait to show you the rest of the photos so make sure to come back in a couple weeks for the full post!

Taylor & Laura | Ponca City Wedding Photography

Good Tuesday morning friends! Today is not an official blogging day but I just couldn’t wait to share a Sneak Peek for a fabulous wedding we shot this past weekend at the historic Marland Mansion!

The girls looked radiant in their cranberry gowns and I love the rustic autumn tones in their bouquets! I love the look of the boys in brown suits…looking sharp!

And Laura…isn’t she just stunning!?! ♥ I love her one-shoulder gown!

There were many fun surprises at Taylor & Laura’s wedding! To the guests surprise, these newlyweds shared their first dance as husband and wife at the end of their ceremony. It was really sweet!

Laura did a wonderful job putting together unique rustic centerpieces on all of the tables and I’ve never seen so many wedding cakes before! I love how they were all placed on thin sections of tree bark.

Laura and Taylor are such a happy and generous couple! Make sure to stop back in a couple weeks for the full post and enjoy your Thanksgiving week!

Chris & Sarah | Stillwater Engagement Photography

Happy Monday folks and don’t fret! We have an amazing e-session post to take those Monday blues away! This is one of my favourite times of the year for engagement photos because I love the glow of the November sun and you can almost feel the love in the air. We met Chris & Sarah on the OSU campus for some formal photos since Sarah is an alumni and Chris will be graduating very soon and then headed to a private lake to capture their love of the outdoors and…canoeing! So make sure you scroll to the bottom because you are in for a real treat! ♥

Chris and Sarah had known of each other for many years but their paths never properly crossed. Sarah had even gone backpacking and canoeing several times with Chris’ mom and little sister. It wasn’t until they both happened to attend National Camp School together that their fates would intertwine. They worked together for the rest of that summer at a Boy Scout camp, Sarah as the Pool Director and Chris as the Whitewater Kayaking Director, and have been inseparable ever since!

Sarah had always wanted a sapphire engagement ring and found the perfect ring one day while browsing with Chris. So she figured out he had bought the ring but Chris wanted it to be a surprise. So he hid it until he thought enough time had passed that she had forgotten about it. A few month later, Sarah was getting out of the shower and found the room aglow with candles. I’m sure she was surprised! It was at that moment that Chris asked Sarah to marry him. She said yes of course!

I can totally understand why Sarah wanted a white sapphire ring. It’s beautiful! And this next photo is my favourite! It truly shows how beautiful and carefree it was boating around that shimmering pond! ♥!

Next month these two lovebirds are actually jaunted off to Jamaica for a destination wedding! How fun! I’m a bit jealous, LOL, but I’m so happy for these two. I can tell that they are going to be so happy together!

We loved hanging out with these two because they’re so easy going and fun to shoot. ♥ Don’t miss out on more sweet photos of Chris & Sarah paddling around this golden pond. So head on over to the slideshow on their Client Site and enjoy the rest of your week {and a short one at that for our American friends!}!
