Wedding ~ Chris ♥ Kristena
Happy Friday everyone! To kick off your weekend we have another fun wedding to share! You may remember this couple from their romantic airport engagement last fall. Well, this darling couple just got hitched! ♥ Meet Chris & Kristena.
Her dress was oh-so gorgeous! I love the delicate details and the large bow on the back of her dress. Chris had an awesome group of groomsmen who made the day fun and were always happy to help.
The bouquets were awesome! I love it when brides take the chance on something different. Kristena had her bouquet made out of fabric by Savvy Couture with pretty little pieces of trinkets and things from her family which made it extra special. And using baby’s breath for the bridesmaid’s bouquets was a great way to keep a light whimsical feel. {I love baby’s breath!} Kristena was so gorgeous! ♥
The groomsmen were so fun to work with! LOL. They made sure everything ran smoothly and kept Chris from jumping ship! Just kidding of course! As you can tell from their first glance below, these two are madly in love! They’re so sweet.
Kristena’s step-father came soon after to see his beautiful daughter for the first time all dolled up. He presented her with a precious bracelet for her to wear. How thoughtful!
The weather was very undecided all day, sunny…cloudy…rainy…but we all crossed our fingers for one of these breaks as the ceremony time loomed closer. The timing ended up just perfect! “Please stand…here comes the…Bride.” On a horse drawn carriage no less! Escorted by her two brothers.
These two had some exciting and unique ideas. My favourite was a time capsule that they incorporated into the ceremony. They each wrote letters to each other and placed them inside a wooden box along with a bottle of wine. They had their siblings nail the box shut. The idea is that on their 5 year anniversary they will pry open the box, read each other’s letters and share a glass of wine! It was actually very entertaining to watch because the wood was a little harder than expected and even the pastor had to step in to help, LOL! It was very funny but it all worked out in the end.
9.0, 10!, 10!, 9.5, 9.0, 9.5…I think they deserved a 10! Little did Chris and Kristena know that their first kiss was being judged…literally! Congratulation Chris and Kristena!
The best man, Matt, definitely helped keep the day lighthearted and fun. With the day just starting I couldn’t wait to hear what he had in store for his speech!
We were really looking forward to this wedding because we knew how genuine this couple is. You can tell just from the way they look at each other.
They had such a fun wedding group for sure! I love how the bridesmaids got to pick their shade of green for their dress. The reception had some lovely details too. They used the colours orange and green mixed with the muted tones of baby’s breath and natural fabrics. My favourite thing at the reception was the over-sized letters they used as a guestbook. Guests used metallic markers to leave heartfelt wishes. I bet it will be a favourite piece of wall art for years to come. And finally, you can’t go wrong with mason jars!
Oh and here’s another unique idea, instead of the classic chocolate fountain…s’mores! Everyone loves s’mores! Guests used extra long skewers to roast the campfire marshmallows over portable burners. Fun!
A special triangular cake for the bride and groom was placed atop a pyramid of cupcakes! The topper is actually a family heirloom and it’s history was chronicled and framed to the side {dated back to a 1954 wedding!}. And the mason jars used for drinks doubled as wedding favours!
The celebration went late into the night with much partying and dancing. And I spotted some truly talented footwork out there! It was wonderful being a part of their day.
The bouquet toss is always so much fun! Finally, I just want to put a special shout out to Courtney for helping with coordinating the day. It wouldn’t have run as smoothly without you. We hope to work with you again! :)
There were some twists and turns but everyone really had fun that day. Thank you Chris & Kristena for letting us be a part of your joyous day! So be sure to check out the slideshow on their Event Page for more photos. Have an awesome weekend!
