Sneak Peek: Jeff & Emily ~ A Cozy Cabin Engagement

Yay it’s Monday! I know, I know, I must be crazy to be excited about a Monday but what we are excited about is this cozy cabin engagement shoot we did with Jeff & Emily. Man, I can’t even begin to describe the location! Emily took us out to land owned by her family, and to make this short I’ll just say that it’s a photographer’s dreamland. Anyway, I guess I’ll let you be the judge of that…take a peek!

The lake was a little dried up and exposed all these cool trees that used to be underwater. And since we were lakeside and kinda chilly, s’mores were a must! Sweeeet!

I love the photo of them on the paddle boat…that’s land-bound! ♥ It’s one of my favourite. And the sunset was just as lovely outside the family cabin.

Have a rockin’ week everyone! The full e-session will be up in two weeks so make sure to check back! ;)

Waiting for Saturday & A Sweet Surprise

Popping in to say Happy Friday! It’s my first week back in the States and I didn’t really feel as bad as I thought I would be. Jetlag can really suck sometimes! But I feel so energized and so excited for tomorrow. We’re having an engagement shoot with Jeff & Emily at a cabin by a lake outside of Stillwater. We’re pretty psyched ’cause it’s our first engagement shoot for the year!!! Plus it’s nice sometimes to get away from this busy town and just chillax…well we’ll be working but you know what I mean. I hope the weather will be kind to us. Oklahoma is pretty crazy sometimes! I’ve mentioned it before, if you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes and it will change. How about you? What are you doing tomorrow?

A lovely journal with one of Josephine’s still photos on it and an itty bitty airmail with a lovely note ♥

So I found this in my mailbox the other day. What a sweet surprise! It’s actually from a filipino photographer based in Singapore. Remember Josephine of Josephine Sicad Photography!? I even featured her here on my blog before. She still lives in Singapore and has jumped in full time on her photography business. Awesome sauce! And she’s actually expecting! Yay! Thank you so much Josephine for the lovely gift! I adore your photos and I hope your first trimester won’t be too challenging. *Hugs* So anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and be back here on Monday ’cause I will have some sneak peek shots up of Jeff & Emily’s engagement session.

Family ~ The Wackers

Happy Wednesday everyone! I’m so happy to be saying this back here in the States with Scott! I hope your year is turning out to be filled with exciting opportunities. We are so excited ourselves and I’m happy to share with you our first session of the year! Meet Paige’s family. Paige is a hypnotherapist here in town; her husband, Chris, is an engineer/inventor; and their daughter Harleigh is enjoying high school life. Don’t they sound like such a fun family to know? Well, they are!

For a January winter day, it was beautiful. It was cold in the shade but it was easy enough to warm up in the ample sun. They brought their dogs: Honey, Kona, and Babe. One for each of them! These pups were so fun and playful and you could tell they liked getting out that day. :)

Paige and her family wanted to bring something to the shoot that they all have in common…an iPad! What a unique and creative idea. They each own an iPad and on evenings when they want to relax they all take them out to play or catch up with friends. This family is so fun to hang out with so we decided to be a bit silly with them, LOL.

It was a very pleasant Saturday to be out, especially for January! We were so lucky to be spending it with such a nice and wonderful family. Thanks for stopping by and remember to head on over to their Event Page for more fun family photos! See you again here on Friday!

Monalisa Eating Ice Cream and the Joy of Coming Home

I almost forgot that today is Monday. Happiest Monday to all! I did get home safe last night around 10:30ish. I couldn’t say that I had the most enjoyable flights. The flight from Hong Kong to Chicago was very very bumpy. Some people even started holding hands. And I was praying. Yes, that bumpy! Then my flight from Chicago to Tulsa, OK was cancelled. So there was a long line of people trying to get into the last flight of the day {8:10 pm} and luckily we {I was traveling with my colleague} got to a reservation agent on the phone, while waiting in line, who was able to get us seats for that flight which was 4 hours later. But knowing me, I also asked that we be put on standby on another flight going to OKC, OK airport which was on the other side of Stillwater even if it seemed impossible since there were 15 other standby passengers on the list.

This is a big wall art made of toast that I saw at the K11 mall in Hong Kong. I thought it was pretty interesting plus it’s not everyday that you see Monalisa eat ice cream.

We decided to just rest and several minutes later an earlier OKC flight was boarding and I just decided to check the board to make sure that our 8:10pm flight is still on schedule. Then I checked the waiting list and then saw that my name and my colleague’s name were bumped up to #1 since I had Elite Status with the airline. Then they called our names and requested we needed to board asap. We ran as fast as we could to the gate and were able to board the 6:00pm flight. Even if our luggage was going to end in Tulsa, I really just wanted to be home. I haven’t seen Scott in a long time and I also just wanted a good night’s sleep. Anyway, that was my whole traveling home ordeal but hey as long as I got home safe that is all that matters! Have a wonderful night!

We Are All Travelers

Happiest Friday friends! I don’t know about you but I feel like this week went by so s-l-o-w. And finally it is time to unwind. Yay! So what are you doing today? Or this weekend? Any big plans? I have no clue yet on what I’ll be doing today really since the weather outside looks so gloomy. It’s early Saturday morning here and I’m still lying in bed right now writing this blog. Yes, I am feeling quite lazy since it is the weekend anyway. Ah the joy of doing nothing! I feel so much like this water lily I think, just taking it nice and slow to bloom.

I have lots of things that I want to do for the business this year and I am just taking my time – slowly but surely. Firstly, I want to attract more people here to my little blogosphere that’s full of ramblings of everyday life and snapshots of love from my clients. And of course, I’m always looking for ways to reach out to future clients who want a non-traditional and creative wedding or one who shares the same love for vintage things as I do. I’m figuring out my path in this industry so I can keep doing what I love to do…capture memories. ♥

Now that we are talking about paths, this song just popped into my head. It’s called Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The song of course can be interpreted in so many ways but I mainly like it for it’s simplicity and the singer’s voice. Anyway, enough rambling and I hope you enjoy your weekend! I am leaving for the US tomorrow!!! Yipee! Thank you for stopping by.

Some Peace of Mind

So today I got to see the sunset which hardly happens when I’m working in China mind you. It’s dark mostly when I get out of the factory. But my team and I got off work earlier than usual so I had some alone time and a little bit of sunshine which was really nice. I roamed the streets for an hour then I went to just sit and relax at the Japanese garden at the hotel that I’m staying in. I love it here. I find it just so peaceful. I can think and unwind definitely. Ah it would be good to do a little bit of this everyday!

Anyway, I just made sure to drop in. I really haven’t taken too many photos lately but hopefully I could do that later this week in Hong Kong since I do have a bit of a break before I leave. I have to say I miss Facebook just because I couldn’t see what all my friends are up to. Thank God Scott helps me get this post out there on our business page too. What would I do without him!?! I hope your Wednesday is going well for you. And I hope you take even just a little bit of break at some point in your day. Trust me it works wonders. I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Travel & Trouble

Hi there! How was your weekend? I’m finally in China and will be here for several days before going back to Hong Kong by the end of the week. That was a crazy flight from San Francisco to HK! Not really sure what happened but it surely delayed our flight for several hours. One minute we were ready for take off then the next minute I saw police officers heading up to Business Class to investigate two people who have committed a crime. After an hour or so, we finally were able to leave but the headwinds were so strong, they further delayed our flight. We finally arrived at the hotel around midnight!

Everyone here is getting ready for Chinese New Year next week. With lots of red lanterns all over the place and orange shrubs everywhere, it actually looks very festive. Many people here in the city are starting to leave for home to celebrate Chinese New Year with their families in the provinces. Ah, I’m sure there will be lots of merrymaking and good food. :) Anyway, I hope you have a lovely week. Don’t stress out too much and just take it one day at a time. Life can be filled with some trouble but enjoy the good days as much as you can. Talk to you on Wednesday! :) Oh and see you around Facebook. I’ve been trying to send Scott my updates at times.

Vegas Baby!

Happy weekend y’all! How was your week? When I left Stillwater around 4:30am last Thursday, it was freezing cold. It was the first winter snow. Oh how I love snow! I was on my way to Las Vegas for the yearly CES (Consumer Electronic Show) and I actually had a meeting that same afternoon. And of course while up in the air, I can’t help but take a snapshot of the snowy mountains by Colorado. It’s only been two days here in Las Vegas and I feel pretty worn out. LOL Well one thing is that I did lots of walking around and checking out every interesting booth at CES.

The Nikon booth was always packed with curious onlookers for the D4 demo. And you can’t miss the Samsung booth! They have lots of flat screen monitors and TVs all over the place plus their booth is 20 times the size of regular booths. Oh and I got to check Polaroid’s booth too. They had lots of their products on demo too and I even tried their Zink printer. They took my photo and printed it right there…neat! Well, as you can imagine I am pretty exhausted and hungry so a few of us decided to hit the seafood buffet at our hotel. Y-u-m!

Then off we went to play the slot machines to try our luck. Well, maybe next time…I didn’t win anything but I did enjoy pressing the buttons for awhile. Then we decided to check out the pub for some traditional Irish music to end the night. Except for trying to get this blog out, it will be the end of the night. ;) Okay, goodnight then! I have to get up early to catch a 6:00am international flight to Hong Kong. Zzzzz Talk to you later!

Surround Yourself with Happy People!

Happy Wednesday! Another day. I actually got to stay at home today! By choice of course, I had some errands to make and I needed to prepare for my trip tomorrow. Yes tomorrow, and I haven’t packed yet at all. I normally am on top of everything but not packing this time – I was hoping I could spend some more time with Scott since the year just started. *bummer* But it is what it is…I got to work work work. So I am off to Vegas for CES (Consumer Electronic Show) for 2 days and then Hong Kong, then some days in China, and then some more in Hong Kong. And I even have a little time to spare at the end of the trip. So I was thinking it would be awesome if you guys could lead me to a nice photographer who would love to drink tea and chat up with me. ;) I promise I won’t bite!

Random photo here of these shoes I just recently bought for my trip. I love the vintage bows ♥

No worries, I will still be updating my blog and my Facebook page and will be stopping by to say ‘Hi’ if I’m not too exhausted. I hope you have an awesome week! And I can’t wait to come back since I get to shoot a lovely engagement session by the lake. Also I get to hang out with another photographer, Chera of Bluebird Photography, who doesn’t live too far away. Up ’til now, I actually haven’t connected or met anyone who appreciates vintage photographic style in this area. Or, well, at least someone who is willing to meet up. You know, some tend to think that it’s business-competition so being friendly is not in their books. Anyway, I am super excited to meet her! Big hugs to all of you and stay positive and surround yourself with happy people. *Huuuuuugs* And yes I will be posting a Friday blog (MWF) as usual ;) so make sure to stop by. K, time to pack, see you later!

Sneak Peek: Family ~ The Wackers

Happy Monday Everyone! This year is looking to be full of some really fun and creative photo sessions! And we’re starting it off with some family photos! Paige, Chris, and Harleigh were a blast to photograph. I love their household rule: You’re in trouble if you’re not having fun!

And of course they brought along the rest of the family…their 3 adorable puppies, from left to right: Honey, Kona, and Babe ♥ They’re so cute and very energetic too!

They have such a beautiful family! Paige is pretty relaxed and calm, Chris is actually very smart, and Harleigh is pretty cute and laid-back herself. ♥

These three actually like goofing around with their iPads. They laze around at home Facebooking or messaging each other.

It was cool and breezy but luckily the sun came out to play and we all had fun (we didn’t want to get in trouble, lol). And as usual, make sure to stop by again in two weeks for the full photo session up on the blog. Have a great one!
