I was reading ShutterSisters latest post today called Wandering. It was short but beautiful. Irene was talking about Paris, the place she will always call home. ♥ This struck a note in my heart, since I’ve been thinking about Home for the past few weeks. Cebu, Philippines will always be my Home. I haven’t been home for more than 4 years now. I always come close, but never home.

The summer weather in Oklahoma reminds me of home except the heat is too painful and I’m used to a constant sea breeze blowing. I miss the fresh seafood that you can get all year round, the white sandy beaches, the turquoise sea, the beautiful coral reefs, the lamp posts that light up the city streets at night, the honking jeepneys, the sidewalk bar-b-que, the hilly mountain trails, the street kids laughing and playing, the local delicacies, the coconut trees, fresh tropical fruits, huge shopping malls, adult clothes that are my size, the 24-hour pubs and bars, my crazy friends, and my supportive family. The beach, the city, the mountains were all just 30mins away from where I used to live. This is the place that inspires me. This is home for me. There’s that constant longing in my heart to just take time off work and go home. But, it’s not really that easy. I wish.

So, Scott and I just decided recently that we will finally go home next year around April. Just the thought of this excites me; so much more when I finally get there! I could see myself dancing and running like crazy to meet my family with happy tears. Cebu is the place I call Home. I’m submitting the first photo below to the ShutterSisters website. I can’t seem to find better photos, these are more than 6 years old. I apologize. My photos don’t do justice on how beautiful Cebu is, but I’m sure a quick search on Google images will show a lot of awesome ones. Plantation Bay, one of the prettiest resorts. There are villas that you can rent and the lagoon is right outside your doorstep or porch.

People commute by jeepneys for the most part. They are big, fast, and scary at times.
